Elaris

Elaris Bloomveil is the Sylvanix Primordial who governs Velcria alongside Liora and Kaelgran. She helps place the world's survival in Ember's hands during the war with Tandris, moving from justified skepticism about an unknown mercenary commander to reliance on Ember's demonstrated control of an army.

Biography

Testing an unknown general

Velcria faced pressure to win its deadlocked war with Tandris and redirect forces to an allied world, so Elaris and her co-leaders hired Ember's party despite their apparently lower cultivation. Elaris questioned the unrelated races within the self-described Leander family, but did not press after Ember declined to explain. Her greater concern was strategic: when Ember proposed an all-out assault without conventional planning, Elaris shared the leaders' doubts that an asserted command Law could justify risking their world. (Chapters 1827–1829)

The leaders answered that uncertainty with a controlled demonstration rather than blind trust. Elaris watched nominally equal armies perform so differently under Ember that she questioned whether Liora had divided them fairly; the formations and movements made it seem as though Ember occupied every soldier's mind. Once the result proved that Ember could convert ordinary troops into a decisive force, Elaris joined the other leaders in yielding operational command. Her changed position was evidence-based rather than submissive: skepticism ended when the promised advantage became observable. (Chapters 1832–1835)

Victory on hostile ground

Elaris accompanied the invasion fleet into Tandris, whose dark environment naturally repelled the nature-aligned Sylvanix and placed them at a home-world disadvantage. She warned that the planetary shield would be difficult to break, then watched Ember's army shatter expectations: Velcria's soldiers killed enemy forces at overwhelming ratios while maintaining coordinated pressure. The campaign confirmed that Ember's Law could overcome both the defensive environment and the strategic stalemate that had forced Velcria to seek mercenaries. (Chapters 1836–1842)

The war escalated beyond the contracted problem when outside Primordials intervened. Elaris and the other leaders could not control that confrontation and ultimately survived because Aeliana massacred seventeen Primordials. In the aftermath, Elaris deferred to Liora during the dangerous exchange with their rescuer and later bowed with her co-leaders in gratitude. Velcria completed the mission with casualties only in the thousands, confirmed Ember's performance, and paid an enhanced reward of ships. Elaris's last appearance leaves her alive and still governing, but newly aware that forces far above Velcria's three Primordials can decide its fate without meaningful resistance from them. (Chapters 1844–1858)

Appearance and personality

Elaris is a Sylvanix woman whose eyes are shown turning purple when she scrutinizes Ember's family. No stable description of her hair, clothing, height, or other features is supplied. As a Sylvanix, she is close to nature and experiences aversion to Tandris's dark energy, though less severely than the Seraphytes do. (Chapters 1827 and 1836)

She is cautious, direct, and capable of revising her judgment. She challenges unsupported claims and battlefield assumptions, but accepts demonstrated competence and follows the agreed commander once the evidence answers her concerns. Under existential pressure from Aeliana, she looks to the more diplomatic Liora to speak for the group. (Chapters 1828–1835 and 1851)

Abilities and cultivation

Elaris is a Primordial and one of Velcria's three world leaders. That status establishes her as one of the world's highest-ranked combatants, but the corpus does not show her activating a named Law, using a racial technique, or completing a personal attack. Her precise power source, range, costs, counters, and progression are therefore unknown. (Chapters 1827–1828)

Her purple-eye change may indicate scrutiny or a Sylvanix ability, but the text does not explain its mechanics or demonstrate an effect, so it cannot be treated as a confirmed perception power. Likewise, her participation in the invasion establishes command responsibility and tolerance of Tandris's hostile environment, not a specific combat feat. (Chapters 1827 and 1836–1838)

Relationships

  • Liora: Elaris co-governs Velcria with Liora and repeatedly looks to her as the group's primary strategist and speaker. She supports Liora's decisions while voicing her own tactical doubts. (Chapters 1827–1835 and 1851–1858)
  • Kaelgran: The Stoneborn is Elaris's other co-leader. Elaris is less volatile than Kaelgran and shares leadership with him even when his temper complicates their first negotiations with Ember. (Chapters 1827–1832)
  • Ember: Elaris initially doubts Ember's unconventional plan and claimed command power. Ember's demonstration wins her trust, and the successful campaign leads Elaris to acknowledge the party's service and bow in gratitude. (Chapters 1828–1835 and 1858)
  • Aeliana: Aeliana saves Elaris and the other Velcrian leaders from the Primordials who intervene in the war. Elaris subsequently treats her with fear and gratitude rather than familiarity. (Chapters 1844–1858)

Items

No personal weapon, artifact, or other named item is established for Elaris. The Velcrian fleet and the ships paid as mission rewards belong to the world rather than to her individual inventory. (Chapters 1836 and 1858)
