Bruce

Bruce is one of the two protectors assigned to Allura during her early time in Skyfall. He is defeated during Nux's staged kidnapping, bound by the Slave Seal, and later continues guarding Allura's privacy.

Biography

A protector absorbed into Nux's control

Bruce is surprised when Allura abruptly asks to return to the palace without indulging her usual curiosity. He and William follow as professional guards but do not understand that her attention has shifted toward Nux. (Chapters 135 and 158)

During the kidnapping plan, Thyra knocks out both protectors. Bruce wakes believing Allura is in danger and is kicked down when he speaks against Thyra's order. Nux later decides to add Bruce and William to his slaves, placing their future obedience under supernatural compulsion rather than earned loyalty. (Chapters 167 and 171)

Bruce's last scene shows him back outside Allura's room, stopping a maid from interrupting her private meeting. His continuing guard role does not establish that the Slave Seal was removed or that he independently accepted Nux. (Chapter 199)

Appearance and personality

Bruce is an aging man with hair beginning to turn white, a straight strong posture, a black formal coat, and a white shirt. (Chapter 199)

He is dutiful, alert to changes in Allura's habits, and quick to treat her disappearance as an emergency. His later obedience is compromised by the Slave Seal, so it cannot be read straightforwardly as voluntary allegiance. (Chapters 135–171 and 199)

Abilities and cultivation

Bruce is a trained protector strong enough to accompany Allura, but Thyra defeats him without a full exchange. The corpus does not give his formal stage, named technique, Law, Domain, affinity, or weapon. (Chapters 135–171)

The Slave Seal allows Nux to command and contact bound subordinates and punishes disobedience. This is a condition imposed on Bruce, not his own ability. (Chapter 171)

• Allura: Bruce serves as Allura's guard and manages access to her rooms. His concern during the kidnapping is genuine, though his later service also occurs under compulsion. (Chapters 135–199)
