Spear of Longinus

The Spear of Longinus begins as the Divine Army's once-use, target-seeking execution artifact. After it fails to kill Lux, his breakthrough refines its Divine power into Calypso, who can reproduce the spear as her unique weapon form.

History

Failed execution and refinement

The High King of Lunaria throws a diamond that becomes the golden Spear of Longinus. The weapon pierces Vera's layered barricade, evades her interception, accelerates, and is said to kill even Supremes, yet it cannot penetrate Lux because his Heaven's Necromancer transformation rejects the intended Divine harm. The giant Skeleton King's cauldron then captures and refines the spent spear instead of letting its power dissipate. (Chapters 772–774)

Calypso's weapon form

The refined power contributes to Calypso's rebirth as Lux's world-boss-rated Battle Angel. Her unique skill lets her transform into the Spear of Longinus, allowing Lux or Deus Gigantia to wield a proportionately immense Divine spear. It can deliver attacks such as Pierce the Void, but strength of will and faith can resist its pressure, as Leonidas demonstrates by pushing back its giant form. (Chapters 780, 842–844, 1218)

Abilities and properties

  • Original form locks onto a target, alters trajectory to evade interception, and accelerates during pursuit. (Chapter 772)
  • Carries enough Divine force to be described as lethal to Supremes, though Lux's sacred necromancer state makes the execution fail. (Chapter 772)
  • Calypso can transform into the spear; its later scale and output depend on her and on the form of Lux's summoned construct. (Chapters 780, 842–844)
  • The original artifact is one-use; later appearances are Calypso's living transformation, not proof that the Divine Army's expendable diamond survived unchanged. (Chapters 772–780)
