Oathbreaker, Dark Blade of Eternity

Oathbreaker, Dark Blade of Eternity is Lux's powerful early dark sword. Its high combined-stat requirement delays ordinary use, but its damage and physical-skill bonuses make it a decisive weapon during his first campaigns.

History

Early battles

Lux acquires Oathbreaker in his first gacha draw. Once able to wield it, he uses the blade against Draugr, tournament opponents, and assassins; Diablo also carries it during mounted clashes and raises it when activating Warlord's Warcry. The sword's unusually high damage makes it a “cheat item” relative to Lux's early level, but its one-hundred-combined-stat requirement prevents an unqualified beginner from simply equipping it. (Chapters 9, 36–45, 154, 163, 197)

Loan to Keane

When Keane needs a replacement weapon, Lux gives him Oathbreaker, describing it as the sword used at the start of his journey. Keane finds its shorter, thicker blade convenient after several practice swings. This is the latest explicit custody event in the supplied corpus, so later ownership should not be reassigned to Diablo merely because he was an earlier wielder. (Chapter 396)

Abilities and properties

  • Deals 100–145 Dark damage and requires 100 combined statistics. (Chapter 9)
  • Increases physical-skill damage by 20%. (Chapter 9)
  • Each attack, including a skill attack, has a 10% chance to deal double damage. (Chapter 9)
  • Its bonuses improve attacks but do not replace the wielder's technique, qualification, or tactical support. (Chapters 37–45)
