Dagger of Frost
The Dagger of Frost is a Rare early-game weapon Lux receives from his golden ticket. Its Ice Slash gives him short-range area control, but the freezing effect is probabilistic and can be resisted.
History
Golden-ticket equipment
Lux first appraises the dagger among the equipment intended to help him overcome his late start in Elysium. Its base damage is modest, but Ice Slash gives him an area attack that his ordinary weapon handling would not otherwise provide. The combination of frost damage, a cone-shaped strike, and a chance to immobilize several nearby enemies makes it an emergency control tool rather than merely a replacement knife. (Chapter 9)
Holding off the Draugr
While retreating from Draugr, Lux stops, summons Diablo and a Forest Wolf, and swaps Tranquility for the Dagger of Frost. His Ice Slash freezes two of three attackers; the third resists the freeze but still suffers significant damage. The outcome demonstrates both the skill's tactical value and its central limitation: the damage can land even when the control effect fails. (Chapter 24)
Abilities and properties
- Deals 10–15 Frost damage as a normal weapon. (Chapter 9)
- Grants Ice Slash, a cone attack that deals 20–25 Frost area damage to creatures within five meters. (Chapter 9)
- Ice Slash has a chance to freeze an enemy for five seconds; the effect is not guaranteed, as one Draugr resists it. (Chapters 9, 24)
- Ice Slash has a two-minute cooldown, preventing repeated use as continuous crowd control. (Chapter 9)
