Sword Storm Blades

Overview

Sword Storm Blades are handleless metal blades Theo directs at range through his iron-aligned aura and the Sword Storm technique. They begin as three crude iron blades controlled in parallel, then develop into a changing arsenal of iron, steel, and adamantium weapons ranging from needles to wagon-sized plates. Their quantity, composition, and enchantments vary because damaged blades are replaced and new sets are forged for different threats. (Chapters 165, 169, 354, 365, 443)

The blades are equipment for a learned power rather than autonomous flying swords. Theo's aura supplies motive control, mental techniques divide his attention, and Dimensional Storage carries the inactive arsenal. Without that combination, the same handleless metal pieces do not demonstrate independent flight. (Chapters 165, 173–174, 354)

History

Three blades and a new technique

While experimenting with iron manipulation, Theo replaces a small test projectile with a broken blade that has no handle. He wraps his aura around it, then uses Quicksilver Thought and Master of the Inner Castle to control two and eventually three weapons at once. The three blades orbit him, pierce a training target, and return; naming the technique Sword Storm causes The Wanderer to register it without a point purchase. (Chapter 165)

Theo soon forges additional blades from steel and keeps them in Dimensional Storage. His initial attempts to move adamantium fail because the metal responds but will not lift, establishing that available aura strength and material are constraints. Iron is easiest for his aura to command, with steel usable and adamantium becoming practical only after later growth. (Chapter 169)

A mobile arsenal

The blades become routine companions in duels and large battles. Theo can hold one behind him for an ambush, recall embedded blades, interpose them as shields, stand on them for support, or combine them with elementals and other attacks. Because they remain physical projectiles, enemies can grab, bend, melt, or knock them down, and time reversal can undo their placement. (Chapters 173, 207, 214)

By the doppelganger conflict, Theo stores a broad set that ranges from fingernail-sized pieces to wagon-sized masses of enchanted steel. Gravity manipulation changes their effective weight and speed, allowing the storm to fill a chamber, but the doppelganger still destroys or deforms many of them. Theo withdraws the wreckage and prepares replacements rather than treating the set as indestructible. (Chapters 354, 358)

Adamantium needles and the hundred-blade storm

At Demigod-level battles, a dozen adamantium blades can pierce and drain a Demigod, showing both improved control and new enchantments. Theo also uses unfinished pieces as handholds or movement anchors, reinforcing that the arsenal includes work-in-progress and specialized forms rather than a uniform matched set. (Chapter 365)

In the late conflict with Louis, hundreds of blades emerge from storage in deliberately chaotic paths. This is the largest described mature deployment, but it does not establish a permanent fixed count: losses, replacements, and continued forging make the size of the current set uncertain. Abilities and properties

Sword Storm provides remote movement, attack, retrieval, and formation control. Theo can strike from several angles, keep blades hidden outside an opponent's focus, use broad pieces as shields, and ride or pull against a blade to move himself. Iron's disruption of zeal lets attacks interfere with spells, while steel or enchanted adamantium variants can siphon power from targets they pierce. (Chapters 165, 173–174, 207, 214, 365)

The number of simultaneously useful blades depends on Theo's concentration, aura control, and mental parallelism. Material matters as well: early adamantium is too resistant to lift, while later growth makes adamantium needles and hundreds of mixed blades feasible. Dimensional Storage is essential to the mature fighting style because it conceals, transports, and deploys a collection too large to carry conventionally. (Chapters 165, 169, 354, 365)

The set has no single durability rating. Ordinary blades bend or melt under Demigod attacks, very large pieces trade agility for mass, and an alert opponent can catch or repurpose them. Theo's late arsenal is more numerous and better enchanted, but the corpus does not confirm that every current blade drains zeal or is made of adamantium. (Chapters 354, 358, 365, 443)
