Everlasting Jade Armor

Overview

The Everlasting Jade Armor is Theo's adaptive defensive equipment, created from the living jade core left when the captive Blightstone Elemental collapses. Everlasting Jade bonds to its first craftsman, reshapes under that person's zeal, accepts enchantments, and can regenerate or expand when supplied with earth zeal. Theo develops the material from a breastplate into a full defensive system incorporating iron, steel, adamantium, and talismans. (Chapters 169, 172–173, 198)

The elemental is not Theo's property. Its will and spirit remain present in the jade, and the source text leaves open whether it died, evolved, or could reawaken. The armor's final known configuration coats an absorbed adamantium skeleton inside Theo's body rather than appearing as conventional external plate. (Chapters 169, 369)

History

The Blightstone core

After heavy use of Dean's Orb, the Blightstone Elemental collapses into rubble but continues to register life signs. At its center Theo finds a smooth green sphere. The Wanderer's analysis identifies it as Everlasting Jade, a rare material formed by a powerful elemental's death or evolution; it retains the originating being's will and bonds to the first user who shapes it. (Chapter 169)

Theo infuses the jade with his own zeal and molds it into a chest piece. Argona helps add protective, zeal-gathering, and elemental-subjugation talismans, while metal plates broaden the armor's defenses. The subjugation enchantment is a precaution, not proof that the Blightstone Elemental becomes a controlled servant. (Chapter 169)

Growth into a regenerative suit

The armor can be stored in and summoned from a mark on Theo's body. It absorbs new enchantments readily, redistributes zeal through its structure, and protects him from attacks that would otherwise be fatal. When the Sunspire King's plasma punctures it, the material knits the breach closed alongside Theo's own regeneration. (Chapters 172–173, 214–215)

Theo learns that feeding earth zeal into the armor produces more jade, though the process is expensive. He expands the chest piece toward full plate, using jade to anchor iron, steel, and adamantium components. As his body cultivation rises, the original armor falls behind his own durability and becomes an emergency layer rather than his primary defense. (Chapters 198, 358)

The internal adamantium frame

After defeating his metal doppelganger, Theo uses the armor to absorb the abandoned adamantium skeleton. When summoned, the jade chooses to coat his bones rather than his skin, preserving the duplicate body's carved energy channels and effectively adding an internal second network. Later references describe valuable equipment as merged with Theo's body and jade ooze revealing adamantium plates beneath clothing. (Chapters 369, 424, 443)

This internal configuration is the armor's current known state. Theo can still call on its substance and incorporate new adamantium, but the corpus does not establish whether it can simultaneously form a complete external suit after coating his skeleton. (Chapters 416, 424, 443)

Abilities and properties

Everlasting Jade is responsive to Theo's earth zeal, self-repairing, expandable, and highly receptive to defensive enchantments. It can flow into shape, store within a body mark, distribute zeal, and bind disparate metal plates into a single defense. The original elemental's affinity gives the material living behavior beyond ordinary armor. (Chapters 169, 172–173, 198)

The incorporated metals add their own properties: iron disrupts zeal, steel can absorb it, and adamantium supports durable enchantments. Protective and warding talismans cover several attack types, while zeal-gathering inscriptions allow the armor to accumulate some energy. The exact final enchantment list changes as Theo adds components, so early wards should not be treated as a complete inventory of the internalized form. (Chapters 169, 196–198, 416)

Its limits track both damage and scale. High-rank attacks can puncture it, producing more jade consumes immense earth zeal, and Theo eventually outgrows the defense offered by the original suit. Absorbing the adamantium skeleton restores relevance, but the source leaves the Blightstone Elemental's ultimate consciousness and possible reawakening unresolved. (Chapters 169, 198, 214, 358–369)
