Taka
Taka is a lion-man of the Burning Heavens Guild sent to control Korra and secure Theodore Waltz for his organization. His confidence in superior speed, guild protection, and a loophole-filled Heavenly Oath collapses when Theo advances to True Mage and the palace guard arrests him. (Chapters 151, 157–160)
Biography
Coercion ends in a failed oath and capture
Taka arrives from the World of Tooth and Claw as Ahadi's son, Korra's handler, and an emissary who expects Hearthwood to submit to Burning Heavens authority. During the summit conflict he attempts to use hostages and overwhelming speed after his Wizard protector Blazeheart is killed. Tivana traps him but accepts a Heavenly Oath under which she will not harm him that day. Taka immediately exploits the narrow wording by attacking Theo, assuming no subordinate will risk the guild's retaliation. The choice backfires: Theo's True-Mage advancement devours Taka's enhancement magic, poison and reflected attacks slow him, and coordinated defenders strip away his advantage. Guard Captain Amisra finally shocks him unconscious, cuffs him, and takes him prisoner. (Chapters 157–160)
No later direct appearance in the supplied corpus establishes his release, death, or further cultivation, so his latest documented state is living captivity. (Chapter 160)
Appearance and personality
Taka is a huge humanoid lion with fur, claws, a mane, and ornate clothing resembling a Victorian suit. He is domineering, arrogant, and tactically shrewd enough to search for oath loopholes, but his certainty that guild reputation makes him untouchable leads him to continue a fight after escape becomes possible. (Chapters 151, 159–160)
Abilities and cultivation
Taka fights at a Late True Mage-equivalent level with extreme speed, wind and air attacks, a scimitar, force barriers, healing potions, and a ring that blocks or projects mind magic. Fateweaver hexes and poison can slow him, his enhancements can be consumed or dispelled, and concentrated defensive equipment lets a newly advanced Theo survive his assault. He is powerful enough to maim Mage Acolytes but not to overcome a prepared Sorcerer or a coordinated palace force. (Chapters 157–160)
Relationships
- Korra: Taka treats Korra as a subordinate to be controlled and returned, while her decision to attack him helps break his hold over the summit battle. (Chapters 151, 159–160)

- Tivana: Tivana kills Blazeheart, traps Taka, and limits herself through a Heavenly Oath while still permitting her guards to arrest him. (Chapter 160)
