Biography

Defection for the Sakaku name

Kysalian begins as a late True Mage assigned to protect Sharian, whose temper she privately regards as uncontrolled. When Tim's domination of the Sakaku becomes undeniable, continued obedience would preserve neither her clan's reputation nor her teacher. She helps Jynna survive an ambush and bargains with Theo and Shadowblade for the iron needed to act. Shadowblade drives her through an early Wizard advancement; despite its violence and risk, Kysalian immediately uses the new power to decapitate a hostile Wizard, suppress Shakaran with cuffs, and carry her away alive. Her defection is therefore not abandonment of Sakaku identity but an attempt to rescue it from enthralled leadership. (Chapters 106, 114, 120)

Kysalian then fights beside the Hearthwood retreat. Later information places her back in Sakaku lands, alive, though the corpus gives no later direct scene or further advancement. (Chapters 121, 349)
