Ghessa

Biography

Displacement and Hearthwood Compact

Ghessa serves as Nela Songstone's vigilant guard when Theodore Waltz first becomes entangled with the displaced Songstone survivors. She instinctively moves to defend Nela, but checks her attack when the matriarch invokes honor and demands restraint. That balance—protective aggression subordinated to sworn duty—defines Ghessa's place in the emerging compact. (Chapter 15)

Reopened Wanderer and Archreaver

As Hearthwood consolidates, Ghessa moves Songstone wisps during an evacuation and becomes Assyrus Azure's second-in-command in a spear unit. Solar Essence Peaches help her break through to Mage Acolyte, after which she fights Corpse Collectors with spear, sunlight zeal, and a sword. A projected Tim later overwhelms her mind and turns her against allies; Sava Greenstem restrains her and Illiel removes the influence, demonstrating that her martial discipline does not protect her from specialized mind magic. (Chapters 66, 71, 76, 80, 85–86, 94, 104, 106, 113, 122)

Appearance and personality

Ghessa is presented as a trained Songstone swordswoman and guard; the supplied corpus does not establish a stable, detailed physical portrait. She is strict, loyal, practical in crisis, and deeply conscious of a family tradition in which Songstone warriors protect the matriarchal line. Her decision to salvage both cultivation resources and valuable wine also reveals a pragmatic streak. (Chapters 15, 76, 85–86, 122)

Abilities and cultivation

Ghessa reaches Mage Acolyte after using Solar Essence Peaches. She fights in organized formations with an iron-tipped spear, can use a sword, and channels sunlight-aspect zeal. She is capable against Corpse Collectors but nearly dies to a stronger ice mage, and the Tim incident establishes a pronounced vulnerability to mind control. (Chapters 80, 85–86, 94, 122)
