The Cult, Counterparts, and Immortal Ascension
Cathala is a young Grand Hydra True Mage on a scouting and training mission when a failed jump leaves her group exposed to a skeleton attacker. She orders the two older scouts to flee and faces the threat with her sword until Theodore Waltz stages a rescue. Her gratitude brings Theo into contact with a clan already suffering attacks from Louis, while the matriarch responds to Cathala's mistake by prescribing serious footwork training instead of ignoring how close it came to killing her. Cathala later applies that training as a stealth scout, approaching within hundreds of meters of a Demigod before detection. By Chapter 464 she and fellow scouts have founded a Devilbeast Wilds settlement under the Hidden Serpent name and are monitoring the unstable timeline. (Chapters 423–425, 427, 440–442, 464)
Appearance and personality
Cathala is a young elf with purple hair. She is brave enough to hold off an attacker so companions can escape, but her first scene also shows inexperience and imperfect footwork. She responds to rescue with open admiration and to correction with continued service rather than retreat from scouting. (Chapters 423–425)
Abilities and cultivation
Cathala is a True Mage trained with a sword, stealth, scouting, and evasive footwork. Her later approach toward a Demigod demonstrates substantial concealment, though she is still detected before reaching immediate striking distance. Her missed jump and need for rescue establish that rank does not erase technical mistakes or protect her from unfamiliar opponents. (Chapters 423–425, 440–442)
