Kyunghye Park is Jinwoo and Jinah Sung’s mother. Her recovery from Eternal Sleep Disease restores the domestic center of the Sung family, and her quiet perception often reaches truths that her children try to hide.

Biography

Raising the Sung children

Kyunghye raises Jinwoo and Jinah after her husband disappears through a gate. She protects them physically as well as emotionally: scars around her neck and the back of her head come from shielding a young Jinah when scalding bath water spilled. After losing her husband, she keeps the family together as a single mother until Eternal Sleep Disease takes away her consciousness. (Chapters 31, 61)

The illness leaves her comatose for four years and dependent on life support. During that time Jinwoo becomes an E-rank hunter to meet the hospital expenses and support Jinah. Before losing consciousness, Kyunghye makes him promise to look after his sister—a promise that shapes his adolescence and early hunter career. (Chapter 31)

The true reward of the Demon’s Castle

After completing the materials for the Holy Water of Life, Jinwoo administers it secretly at Kyunghye’s bedside. Color returns to her face and she wakes with her memories and personality intact. Her first question is whether Jinah is safe. She then thanks Jinwoo for keeping his promise, immediately recognizing that the young man beside her has spent years carrying a parent’s burden. (Chapter 31)

Doctors can find no trace of the supposedly incurable disease and discharge her after confirming the recovery. The case becomes the only known example of a patient waking from the final sleep, although the magical cause remains hidden. Kyunghye’s return is the reward Jinwoo values more than the power and treasure acquired in the Demon’s Castle. (Chapters 31–32)

Restoring the family home

Back in the apartment, Kyunghye resumes cooking, washing dishes, and caring for her children. These ordinary actions restore a warmth that neither money nor Jinwoo’s new rank could provide. She does not erase the independence Jinwoo and Jinah developed, but gives them a dependable home to return to after school, raids, and public crises. (Chapters 32, 50, 61)

Her attentiveness becomes crucial after the high-orc attack at Jinah’s school. Although Jinah tries to resume ordinary life, Kyunghye notices that she cannot eat normally, sleeps badly, and relives the attack in dreams. She tells Jinwoo plainly that his sister is still suffering, helping him understand that rescue and recovery are different things. (Chapter 50)

Waiting for husband and son

Kyunghye follows reports of Jinwoo’s missions with the conflicted pride of a mother whose son has become a national protector. She watches television coverage when dungeon incidents abroad escalate and is visibly relieved and proud when he appears. At the same time, she cannot control where his responsibilities take him and must endure long periods of uncertainty from home. (Chapter 55)

She also continues waiting for her missing husband. When Jinah suggests moving, Kyunghye resists because the old apartment is the place he would know to return to. The choice is not naïveté about his disappearance; it is a deliberate refusal to close the family’s door while any possibility remains. Her patience helps explain why she does not demand complete answers from Jinwoo when she senses that he is concealing danger. (Chapter 61)

A meal before war

Before leaving for the coming Monarch war, Jinwoo prepares kimchi stew and side dishes for the family. Kyunghye initially feels guilty that her busy son is cooking, then recognizes the gesture’s meaning. Her husband used to cook before dangerous missions, and Jinwoo’s unusual care triggers the same intuition. She asks whether something is wrong. When he denies it with a strained smile, she chooses not to pry, accepting the reassurance without necessarily believing it. (Chapter 68)

The moment captures Kyunghye’s way of caring: she sees more than her children say, offers them a chance to speak, and respects the silence they choose. Her home remains the ordinary human future Jinwoo is preparing to defend. (Chapter 68)

The rewritten world

Time reversal removes Eternal Sleep Disease and the dungeon era from history. Kyunghye therefore lives without the four-year coma and without watching her son become a hunter. The restored household is one of the concrete lives preserved by Jinwoo’s decision to carry the old timeline alone. (Chapters 75–77)

Appearance and personality

During her coma Kyunghye is pale and physically diminished; the Holy Water of Life restores healthy color almost immediately. Burn scars at the neck and back of her head record the moment she used her own body to protect Jinah. (Chapter 31)

Kyunghye is warm, selfless, patient, and unusually observant. Her first concern after four lost years is her daughter, and her next is the burden Jinwoo carried. She detects Jinah’s trauma through changes in sleep and appetite and recognizes Jinwoo’s impending danger through a single meal. Yet she is not intrusive. She gives her children space to speak, maintains familiar household routines, and turns care into steadiness rather than control. (Chapters 31, 50, 68)

Her continued wait for her husband demonstrates loyalty and endurance, but also reveals how strongly she associates home with the promise of reunion. The same conviction underlies her faith that Jinwoo will return from the dangers he cannot explain. (Chapter 61)

Abilities, skills, and rank

Kyunghye is an unawakened civilian with no hunter rank or supernatural power. Her cure comes from Jinwoo’s Holy Water of Life and is not an ability she can reproduce. (Chapters 31–32)

Her practical strengths are caregiving, household management, emotional perception, and resilience. She raises two children after her husband disappears, survives a four-year magical coma, resumes independent family life after waking, and identifies distress that more powerful people overlook. She cannot participate in raids, but her observations materially affect how Jinwoo understands and protects his family. (Chapters 31, 50, 61, 68)

Relationships

• Jinwoo Sung: Her son and the child forced to become the household’s provider. She is proud of him, senses the danger behind his reassurances, and gives him a home to return to.
