Coeus

Coeus is the custom mecha of Lan Qing, the Divine Monarch known as Prometheus. Built around his wind Discipline, close-combat control, and tactical precision, it uses paired moonblades, extreme acceleration, layered electronic security, and heavy structural strength. Several spectacular effects attributed to Coeus arise from Lan Qing's piloting and Discipline rather than autonomous machine functions.

History

Monarch training battles

Coeus first appears during the Divine Monarchs' training matches, initially described as deep black and later as dark green under its active energy. Lan Qing uses it to pressure Poseidon, discard its moonblades when grappling is more useful, trap Thor's spear, and endure the edge of Triton's large-area attack. The exercises establish a machine trusted for direct confrontation, but their simulated damage does not provide a physical repair history. (Chapters 222–224)

Star Alliance exhibition and later readiness

In the public DreamNet exhibition, Coeus carries the Monarchs' commander through objective play and duels with Starlord. It waits for tactical openings, creates three attack images under Lan Qing's control, turns jade as his energy rises, and becomes a wind-like projectile aimed at the opposing ace. Chapter 309 contrasts the custom machine with the ordinary training suit in which Lan Qing is hacked: Coeus has superior artificial intelligence and more than a dozen defensive software layers. Chapter 311 adds that it carries the Iron Army's self-destruct system. Neither statement means it is destroyed; the corpus leaves it operational but does not narrate later deployment. Abilities and properties

• Coeus is a heavy close-combat machine armed with two moonblades. Its frame can grapple another god mecha, pin a weapon, deliver shoulder strikes, and survive clashes that would disable ordinary training suits. (Chapters 223–224)
• When synchronized with Lan Qing's wind Discipline, it gains a cyan or jade aura, extreme linear acceleration, sudden repositioning, and blade-like impact. The three-image attack is a product of elite piloting and movement rather than three separate physical mechas. (Chapters 275–278)
• Its top-tier artificial intelligence and more than twelve defensive subroutines make it substantially harder to compromise electronically than a standard military trainer. The text says the Accountant would not have breached it as quickly, not that it is impossible to hack under every condition. (Chapters 309–311)
• Coeus includes an Iron Army self-destruct mechanism. This is a last-resort sacrificial system shared with the unit's Warsuits, not a routine attack, and the corpus never shows Lan Qing activating it. (Chapter 311)
