Jormungandr
Jormungandr is the sentient world serpent of Niflheim, one of the three Siblings of Disaster, and an autonomous leader who supports Fenrir in the war against Mother Earth.
Biography
The world serpent enters the conflict
Jormungandr first watches Yeon-woo with unusual calm, withholding action while measuring the mortal who has attracted divine attention. The serpent is later identified beside Fenrir and Hel as one of Niflheim's three great demons, vast enough for its body to wrap around worlds. When Fenrir asks for aid, Jormungandr willingly shares power and helps the wolf expand to roughly ten times its former size. The exchange establishes the siblings as cooperating minds rather than beasts under a master's ownership: Fenrir requests assistance, Jormungandr chooses to answer, and their compatible power changes what the sibling can do on the battlefield. (Chapters 210, 515, 523)
Niflheim descends
Jormungandr later descends with Niflheim's reinforcements at Fenrir's request and attacks Mother Earth alongside Yeon-woo's coalition. The serpent urges the other siblings not to fall behind, turning familial competition into pressure against their common enemy. By the later battlefield, the combined auras of Fenrir, Jormungandr, and Hel cover the area as Niflheim's leaders descend again, confirming that Jormungandr remains active and aligned with the society through the end of the recorded appearances. (Chapters 587–588, 697)
Appearance and personality
Jormungandr's defining form is a gigantic serpent whose body can wind around worlds. No stable humanoid appearance is described in the supplied chapters, and the scale of the true body is part of both the character's presence and divine reputation. (Chapters 515, 523)
The serpent is calm, deliberate, and socially aware. Jormungandr watches before acting, responds to Fenrir's requests, and competes with the siblings without abandoning coordination. These decisions show a self-directed leader capable of alliance and judgment, not an item or summoned animal controlled by another character. (Chapters 210, 523, 588)
Abilities and powers
World-serpent divinity
Jormungandr's divine body operates on a planetary or world-spanning scale, generating an aura powerful enough to dominate a battlefield when joined with the other Niflheim leaders. The text emphasizes magnitude and presence more than a named personal attack. (Chapters 515, 697)
Power sharing
Jormungandr can transfer or lend power to a sibling. Fenrir's body grows about tenfold after receiving the serpent's support, demonstrating that the ability amplifies an ally rather than merely adding a second attacker. It depends on cooperation and has only been shown within the close bond among the Siblings of Disaster. (Chapter 523)
