Iapetos is a former Titan leader who submits to Typhon's command from weakness but retains enough pride to resent being ordered by another Giant king.

Biography

Typhon's warning cannot prevent defeat

Typhon sends Iapetos against Yeon-woo while giving an ambiguous warning to watch the “child.” Iapetos dislikes the order but obeys because his reduced power leaves him unable to challenge Typhon. Cornered by Yeon-woo's forces, he releases his divine level and turns the battlefield into a storm of lethal heat, scattering formations and burning soldiers. Yeon-woo survives the eruption, closes the distance, and drives Vigrid into him, overturning the advantage of a Titan who relies on destructive range. (Chapters 373–377)

The past reveals an older resentment

Inside Kronos's recorded history, Iapetos appears as an adopted son of Uranus who resents the attention given to the youngest brother. That jealousy helps the elder siblings join a coup, but Kronos defeats Iapetos so thoroughly that he later hesitates to attack Yeon-woo in Kronos's role. After the civil war ends, Iapetos bows at the new king's coronation from fear rather than reconciliation, exposing the insecurity beneath his claims to former leadership. (Chapters 562–566)

Appearance and personality

The chapters emphasize Iapetos's immense divine presence rather than distinctive clothing or facial features. He appears as a battle-worn Titan whose glare and clenched fists lose their threat after a humiliating beating by his younger brother. (Chapters 373, 562)

Iapetos is proud, jealous, and sensitive to hierarchy. He remembers having led Titans and resents Typhon's orders, yet obeys stronger rulers and backs away when confidence fails. His resentment toward Kronos and Uranus's favoritism gives a personal cause to choices that might otherwise look like simple factional loyalty. (Chapters 373, 562–566)

Divine heat waves

Iapetos releases heat and pressure intense enough to cut mountains, burn respiratory systems, hurl debris, and break organized formations. Raising his divine level increases the area and violence, but it also makes the attack indiscriminate toward nearby forces. Opposing Storms can protect a prepared party, while a fighter who withstands the range and reaches his body can interrupt the bombardment directly. (Chapters 374–377)

Titan strength

Iapetos possesses immense holy power and physical strength, but both are relative rather than absolute. Yeon-woo eventually overpowers him in a direct clash, and Kronos's earlier beating damages his confidence enough to suppress another attack. His latest appearances occur in a historical record, so they demonstrate his past condition rather than a new resurrection after the Tartarus conflict. (Chapters 377, 392, 562–566)
