Xuan Bao
Xuan Bao is a Rain Celestial Realm craftsman, Xuan Palace's senior elder, and a member of the Cultivation Alliance's ruling elder group. He enters the Moongazer battle seeking material for a stronger Pseudo Nirvana Void treasure, but Qing Shui destroys his body and leaves his captured origin soul to be searched and consumed. (Chapters 930–969 and 1625)
Biography
The Alliance and the Four Divine Sect
Xuan Bao is summoned to the Moongazer battlefield by the Alliance commander. His arrival makes treasures tremble and causes other senior combatants to retreat, reflecting his status among the hidden elders who rule the Cultivation Alliance. He is also a surviving Rain Celestial and the junior brother of Esteemed Tian Bao, identities he keeps behind the authority of Xuan Palace. (Chapters 930–931 and 933)
He surrounds the Moongazer Serpent with four gold-rank celestial guards and nine black butterflies, then launches a Pseudo Nirvana Void Arrow. His aim is not simply battlefield victory. He believes refining the ancient beast and fusing it with the arrow will produce a higher-ranked treasure and increase his influence within the elder group. The plan fails because the Moongazer is stronger than his records predict: it shatters the arrow's outer form, forces out its true core, and eventually destroys that as well. (Chapters 931–933)
Defeat by Qing Shui
The broken treasure leaves Xuan Bao exposed when Qing Shui attacks with Ji Realm and Call the Wind. Xuan Bao recalls the butterflies, fuses them into a four-colored defense, and unseals celestial origin preserved since the Rain Celestial Realm. Qing Shui dismisses him as inferior to his senior brother and presses through the defense. Xuan Bao loses his body, and Wang Lin captures the unconscious origin soul at Qing Shui's timing. (Chapters 933–941)
Qing Shui later searches the soul for Alliance secrets, leaving it without consciousness. Wang Lin keeps the remnant as a reserve of pure celestial origin energy and draws on it to heal and power Bai Fan's spells. Xuan Bao's political authority and craft legacy survive in other people's plans, but his individual consciousness does not. (Chapters 945–969 and 1020)
Ancient Star System and the Cave World's End
Long afterward, the restored God Slaying War Chariot identifies Xuan Bao as its maker. The attribution distinguishes him from Esteemed Tian Bao and confirms that his nine black butterflies were part of a broader craft tradition rather than a single borrowed formation. (Chapter 1625)
Appearance and personality
Xuan Bao is slightly thin, wears white, carries a whisk, and has bright, deep eyes capable of drawing in an unwary gaze. He projects the leisurely air of a true celestial elder even during a chaotic battle. Confidence in old records and treasures becomes arrogance when the Moongazer exceeds them; once cornered, that composure gives way to bitterness and alarm. (Chapters 930–933)
Abilities and cultivation
Preserved celestial origin
As a true Rain Celestial, Xuan Bao retains a large reserve of celestial origin energy sealed for countless years. Unsealing it recreates the atmosphere of the Celestial Realm and powers his law and treasure techniques. After consciousness is erased, the origin soul remains valuable precisely because this energy is unusually pure; Wang Lin can inhale portions to restore celestial spells, though keeping too much risks interfering with his own domain. (Chapters 933–969)
Pseudo Nirvana Void Arrow
The apparent three-hundred-foot green arrow is an expendable shell around a three-inch scarlet core. The shell collides with and breaks the Moongazer's ancient-god finger, allowing the true arrow to pierce between its eyes at extreme speed. A sufficiently enraged Moongazer can expel and shatter even the core. Xuan Bao's plan to refine the beast into a second treasure therefore depends on the arrow first subduing prey stronger than his records allowed. (Chapters 931–933)
Nine-butterfly formation
Nine black butterflies beat their wings to lay intersecting lines around a target. Recalled and fused, they become one four-colored butterfly whose powder forms a defensive vortex. Sacrificing a wing creates four vortices used with the Law of Nirvana Void. The formation can block several Call the Wind dragons, but Qing Shui's stronger celestial inheritance and millionfold rain attacks penetrate its defense. (Chapters 931–939)
Celestial guards
Xuan Bao summons four gold-rank guards through spatial cracks. Their refined bodies ignore a sea-of-blood attack long enough to surround the Moongazer and enlarge into thousand-foot giants for a combined assault. They are controlled combat constructs, not proof of equivalent personal body strength, and the battlefield's ancient power eventually exceeds the formation around them. (Chapter 931)
