Vladimir

Vladimir is Jekyll's father, James's old friend, and the protector entrusted with Lont's safety. He is the same figure addressed elsewhere as Lord Vlad or simply Vlad. (Chapters 344, 345, and 437)

Biography

A single mission: protect Lont

Jekyll introduces Vladimir when William's group returns to Lont, identifying him as James's best friend. Vladimir assumes responsibility for the town while its usual defenders are absent, and that protection allows Celine and Jekyll to send the children home, restoring life to streets that had resembled a ghost town. He refuses political meetings because he considers events beyond Lont's borders irrelevant to his assignment.
