Biography

Kraetor and the Tower of Babylon

Shafel greets Princess Eowyn and is recognized as a lord, but soon advocates capturing William as a hostage to restrain the Saintess and the Aenarion Clan. His confidence collapses when a defensive barrier disintegrates, and he alone withholds the apology offered by the other patriarchs to calm William. Later judgment assigns suffering among uninvolved Elves to Shafel's selfish leadership, establishing the broader consequence of his factional choices. (Chapters 469, 474, 505, and 572)
