Biography

The Golden Ape at Lont's gates

Lufie is appointed as Lont's new guardian and remains stationed near the town's gates. Jekyll later greets him and asks whether any troublemakers have appeared, showing that the ape performs an active watch rather than serving as a ceremonial mascot. A newcomer initially mistakes Lufie for a possible culprit behind James's disappearance, but residents know that he and the Wyverns will not attack without provocation. By the later comparison, Lufie stands roughly ten meters tall and remains identified with Lont's protection. (Chapters 78, 326, 344, 425, and 438)
