Biography

From frightened surrender to alliance commitment

Kieron first appears drinking at his palace while forces gather around the Western kingdoms. Faced with overwhelming power, he trembles, panics, and begs for the confrontation to stop, offering Quince's surrender. His later sarcasm toward the proclaimed savior shows that submission does not erase his resentment, and his old grudge with King Alexis nearly becomes a fistfight. Nevertheless, Kieron decides to join the Grand Alliance; seeing his commitment, the remaining kings conclude that they also have nothing left to lose and follow. (Chapters 1388, 1389, 1395–1397)
