Grent
Grent is a first-year instructor at Hellan Royal Academy who evaluates candidates, supervises martial training, and helps coordinate the student divisions. (Chapters 122, 146, 228, and 267)
Biography
Instructor of practical combat
Grent helps oversee William's entrance testing while other instructors argue over recruiting the promising candidate. Once the school year begins, he takes the first-years to the Coliseum and teaches them how to fight mages, watching closely enough to recognize that a boastful student possesses genuine dual-element talent. He later borrows Ella for a practical martial class, giving students experience against a capable beast rather than limiting instruction to theory. During the academy's crisis planning, Grent joins Layla and Lourdes in convening the division leaders. (Chapters 122, 133, 146–147, 228, and 267)
Appearance and personality
The brief does not preserve Grent's appearance. He is serious, observant, and pragmatic, with enough authority that William consults him before leaving for outside work. (Chapters 133, 147, and 179)
Skills, classes, and divinities
Grent teaches martial students how to counter mages and assesses elemental affinities and practical fighting ability. His personal weapon, job class, rank, and combat techniques are not stated. (Chapters 146–147)
