Elandorr

Elandorr is the Elven commander assigned to conquer the Southern Continent. He combines military force with psychological strategy, but William ultimately defeats and captures his forces.

Biography

The failed conquest of the Southern Continent

Elandorr receives command of a campaign intended to subjugate four kingdoms quickly. He deliberately uses Eowyn's humanitarian missions to deepen human despair by contrasting Elven aid with military domination, and he adjusts the march after ambushes by accelerating movement before ordering a necessary rest near Hellan's border. The campaign ends at the Gate of Beginnings, where William defeats him and captures many Elves while sparing the women and prisoners. Elandorr's intended conquest therefore strengthens resistance instead of securing the continent. (Chapters 276, 435, 479, 521)
