Biography

Rival candidate turned field officer

Drake enters the prefect competition convinced that he can defeat the other first-years and remains willing to settle the result in single combat after William changes the contest. Although bitter about how the competition ends, he later accepts organized service: Drake commands a platoon of six knights and nineteen probationary members during the Southern war and formally attends William's later ceremony with the other academy officers. By the final conflict, he has been knighted and fights as a Wyvern Rider. (Chapters 131–148, 207, 216, and 1445)
