Dias

Dias is a warrior encountered by William in a dream-like realm and a person Amalthea encourages to choose his own future.

Biography

A remembered wielder of the golden bolt

Amalthea tells Dias that strength becomes visible when it is the only remaining choice and promises to support whatever future he chooses, establishing both pressure and personal agency around him. William later remembers Dias while holding a solid golden lightning bolt taken from Astrape's attack: the weapon resembles the one Dias used during their dream-realm fight, where William also saw Ella's human form. A later divine joke proposes Dias as the name of William and Nisha's future child, but that namesake is not the same person. (Chapters 879, 1142, 1359)
