Cassey

Cassey is the birth name and female form of Caspian, a Half-breed who used witchcraft to live publicly as a male clan leader.

Biography

A concealed identity disclosed

Caspian reveals that his mother named him Cassey before her death and explains that his Half-breed identity would have prevented him from gaining the Patriarch's seat. He therefore relies on witchcraft to alter his appearance and lives politically as a man. After joining William's side, Cassey reverts to the male Caspian form and expresses satisfaction with the accommodations William provides. The brief establishes neither whether one form is original in a biological sense nor any further personal choice about public identity. (Chapters 1014, 1101)
