Aramis
Aramis is Hellan's sole Sword Saint, James's rival, and the South's representative among the kingdom's great regional powers.
Biography
The Sword Saint removed from the war
Aramis first materializes before James with obvious disdain, confirming a long rivalry between two of Hellan's strongest elders. Although hostile, he is not the faction that hates James most, and James distinguishes Aramis's animosity from the Aoife family's more lethal intentions. As representative of the South, Aramis shares national responsibility with Lawrence and the heads of the North and East. The crystal spell removes those adults from action, forcing their duties onto heirs and depriving Hellan of its only Sword Saint during the crisis. (Chapters 190, 291, 310, 340)
