Aethon
Aethon is a magical bird named by William who serves as a scout, messenger, and aerial mount. Though usually a small wren, he can return to the form of a Roc when battle or transport requires it. (Chapters 199, 468, 921, and 1289)
Biography
The Legion's eyes in the sky
After William names him, Aethon undertakes missions and reports what he has seen, eventually helping discover a Hidden Domain. William comes to depend on him as the group's aerial eyes, using his reconnaissance around dangerous territory and even the treasury. Aethon later reveals his original Roc form, carries Belle through combat while evading attacks, and remains with her when she departs. (Chapters 199, 233, 347, 468, 481, 645, 775, 921, 1289, 1308, and 1328)

Aethon's resting form is a small wren, while his original battle and transport form is a much larger Roc. He is alert, reliable, and disciplined enough to perform extended reconnaissance without drawing attention. (Chapters 199, 468, and 921)
