Elmira

Elmira is a Pixie transfer whose years of solitary survival make her an exceptionally cautious scout. After the future Darklight Host accepts her, she develops from an under-equipped assassin into a Specter who combines concealment, target marking, curses, and party-wide magical support, and she later uses her experience to teach other displaced Pixies how to travel safely.

Biography

A solitary pixie finds a party

Elmira first approaches Cain's group because eight years alone in the forest have left her desperate for companionship and safety. Random character creation placed her in the body and class of a Pixie assassin, but other travelers repeatedly drove her away because local Pixies were regarded as dangerous pranksters and killers. She therefore proposes a trial period rather than demanding trust. Once accepted, she guides the party toward a hidden village and warns them about territorial Fairies, while her fear of forest threats and insistence on sealing doors and windows reveal how thoroughly isolation has shaped her habits. (Chapters 36–37)

The group equips Elmira and gives her the security to develop her abilities as part of a coordinated party. She responds with both loyalty and tactical initiative: her shadow blades and marking magic help eliminate fast enemies, she invests in Shadow Field when swarms expose the party's lack of area control, and she learns to use that field defensively to deter attackers. Her stealth lets her scout with Cain during the Ogre conflict, and her concealment and magical support continue to protect the party as it becomes the Darklight Host. By level 100 she accepts the Specter class, gaining constant invisibility together with new ranged poisons and curses; the advancement turns survival habits that once kept her isolated into a defined scouting and assassination role within the Guild. (Chapters 38–45, 197–199)

Specter of the Darklight Host

As a Specter, Elmira remains cautious but no longer treats caution as a reason to stand apart. During the desert journey she keeps watch while her companions sleep, identifies hidden attackers, marks invisible rogues so the group's summons can destroy them, and scouts with Laura when hostile forces gather around Blood Sands Castle. Her small size, flight, stealth, and ability to conceal a companion make her particularly suited to reconnaissance; the information she brings back about enemy numbers and Gillibrand's Lieutenant allows Cain to recognize the gathering as a deliberate large-scale siege rather than ordinary bandit activity. (Chapters 213, 215–217)

Elmira eventually centers her life in the comparatively protected Beginner's Valley, where her concern for safety becomes a responsibility toward younger transfers. She helps Char look after children and gather supplies in Sunnybrook, monitors the barrier and surrounding threats, and gives Cain a careful assessment that the valley remains stable after the wider dungeon collapse. When unaffiliated Pixies begin joining the Sunnybrook group, Elmira teaches them how to secure a traveling party by offering magical support, utility spells, and food creation. This role reframes her own painful beginning: the Pixie once unable to find a party now gives others the practical knowledge needed to avoid the same isolation. (Chapters 482, 544)

Appearance and personality

Elmira is small enough to fit in a human hand and has dragonfly-like wings. At her introduction she wears a green leaf dress, two tiny daggers, and dark camouflage paint intended to break up her outline. Proper equipment gives her a frilled pink-and-white default appearance, while her Pixie-assassin camouflage changes it into a fitted black jerkin, leather pants, and boots. Her wings do not work well when wet, and she cannot initially swim. (Chapters 36, 38, 43)

She is cheerful, affectionate, fond of honey and sweets, and readily excited by new skills or equipment. Beneath that enthusiasm is vigilance learned through years of being hunted and excluded: she startles at forest noises, checks every entrance before sleeping, prefers armored pockets or a trusted companion's hair as shelter, and can remain invisible so habitually that even friends forget she is present. Later, the same cautious temperament makes her a patient source of survival advice for other Pixies. (Chapters 37–39, 215, 482, 544)

Skills and class features

Elmira's abilities combine Pixie magic with an assassin-derived stealth path. Her small flying body makes her difficult to see or catch and lets her scout close to hostile forces, but it also leaves her physically vulnerable; she repeatedly relies on concealment, distance, a Treant, or a companion's pocket rather than direct melee combat. Her Specter advancement strengthens that existing specialization instead of replacing it. (Chapters 36–40, 197–199, 215–217)

Shadow magic and target control

Elmira fires repeated shadow blades as a ranged attack. After receiving proper equipment, the blades become strong enough to cut mounted Dark Elves from their spiders, and her Pixie cooldown trait lets her cast ordinary abilities repeatedly while she has mana. She also uses a luminous marking effect that slows enemies and makes them easier for allies to target. Against hidden rogues, her strong detection and marking magic cancel their tactical advantage by exposing them to the party's concentrated attacks. (Chapters 37, 39, 216)

Shadow Field creates a damaging area for thirty seconds with a thirty-second cooldown, allowing Elmira to maintain it continuously when she has sufficient resources. She first selects it to answer swarms that overwhelm the party's single-target attacks, then adapts it as concealment and area denial: enemies hesitate to enter the damaging darkness, and stationary enemy constructs can be destroyed by keeping the field over their position. The field does not make allies invulnerable, and Elmira remains dependent on positioning and healing when enemies can reach her. (Chapters 39–40)

Pixie support and concealment

The A-ranked Pixie Dust aura increases magical damage for nearby party members, including the magical attacks of Cain's summons. At level 50, Successful Abduction lets Elmira place herself and one touched target into stealth, suppressing both visibility and sound. Sharp senses, alert guards, or close proximity can still reveal them, so she uses the effect to scout, reposition, and obscure vulnerable allies rather than treating it as perfect invisibility. She later uses it to hide one of Laura's forms during reconnaissance. (Chapters 41, 44–45, 217)

Specter grants Elmira invisibility at will and adds ranged poisons and curses to her arsenal. She explicitly notes that bright sunlight makes the invisibility easier to notice, while the Royal Guard Cloak further reduces notice and makes her especially difficult to find in darkness. The corpus establishes these class features but does not give full mechanics for the poisons and curses or demonstrate a later replacement class. (Chapters 197, 199)

Survival and instruction

Elmira has extensive wilderness and urban survival experience from her years alone. She can forage, identify safe routes and local hazards, keep watch, and teach low-rank utility magic. Her Pixie-specific Create Honey converts stored sugar through magic into honey-based foods, while common utility spells such as Campfire, Minor Create Water, and Warming Hug help a party survive travel. By Chapter 544 she is teaching these skills, together with the social strategy of making one's support value clear, to Pixies seeking safe groups. (Chapters 37, 215, 544)

Relationships

  • Cain: Elmira comes to trust Cain as a protector and commander, frequently traveling in his pocket and using his position as a safe platform from which to scout or cast. He equips her, respects the value of her reconnaissance, and later seeks her assessment of danger in Beginner's Valley. (Chapters 38–39, 197, 213, 217, 482)
  • Mythryll: Their early affinity helps Elmira enter the party; Mythryll lets her shelter in her hair, supports her choices without dictating her build, and provides a familiar refuge during travel and combat. (Chapters 36–39, 213, 219)
  • Char: Char helps integrate Elmira into the group and later works alongside her in Sunnybrook. Together they support and educate younger residents, with Elmira specializing in Pixie survival and party-readiness lessons. (Chapters 36–38, 482, 544)
  • Laura: Laura becomes Elmira's fellow small flying scout and playmate. Their mobility and Elmira's paired stealth make them an effective reconnaissance team during the desert attacks and the siege of Blood Sands Castle. (Chapters 215, 217)

Items

  • Royal Guard Cloak: Cain gives Elmira the cloak after recognizing that its notice-reducing effect complements her stealth. It makes her outline fade even before she activates a skill and later offsets part of the Specter class's weakness in daylight. (Chapters 197, 199)
