Zhao Wuji

Zhao Wuji is Zhao Xian's white-haired master, an academy teacher whose political caution becomes protective when his disciple's impossible cultivation speed draws danger. (Chapters 1187–1188, 1225–1227)

Biography

Infiltrating the Immortal Ark Alone

Zhao Wuji receives Zhao Xian and two fellow disciples after a relic-recovery mission, using questions about the Severed Immortal Tower and Celestial Pivot Court to teach them that the errand publicly signals the academy's stance. When Zhao Xian later races from Foundation Establishment through Golden Core toward Nascent Soul, Zhao Wuji reacts with alarm rather than celebration. He conceals the first breakthrough because the academy is known to strip exceptional talents, then becomes frightened when the disciple advances again before officials can decide his fate. His secrecy is thus grounded in institutional danger, though he cannot fully control the crisis. (Chapters 1187–1188, 1225–1227)

Appearance and personality

Zhao Wuji is a white-haired man with a kindly expression when teaching, but the later breakthroughs expose worry and fear beneath his composure. He is patient, politically literate, protective toward Zhao Xian, and cautious enough to suppress good news when publicity would endanger the disciple. (Chapters 1187–1188, 1225–1227)

Abilities and cultivation

The text explicitly identifies Zhao Wuji as a Nascent Soul cultivator. It shows no named personal technique or direct combat, so his demonstrated strengths are instruction, political inference, concealment of cultivation news, and knowledge of the academy's treatment of geniuses. His disciple's rapid advancement comes from separate circumstances and is not Zhao Wuji's power. (Chapters 1187–1188, 1225–1227)

Relationships

Zhao Xian is Zhao Wuji's disciple and the prodigy he tries to protect, even at the cost of angering him by concealing the Golden Core breakthrough. The Academy of Dao Attainment is Zhao Wuji's institution but also the threat he fears will harvest or strip talent. The other returning disciples serve as students in his political lesson. (Chapters 1187–1188, 1225–1227)
