Chapter 515
Ji Changxi becomes sect master after defeating Zhang Wangshuang's bid in a damaging but nonlethal power struggle. Rather than purge his rivals or impose spectacular reforms, he prioritizes recovery, relaxes advancement requirements, and creates regular competitions to rebuild the disciple base. When the strange plague arrives, he recalls outside disciples, closes the protective barrier, orders life-extending pills, and lets frightened disciples leave without punishment. His confidence in established Dao Integration defenses initially underestimates the disease, but worsening symptoms force cooperation with Senior Sister Zhao and Li Fan. The later Great Migration order shifts those agents from sect defense to civilization-wide coordination, showing leadership that broadens under existential pressure even as his own fate remains unresolved. Appearance and personality
