Kosjenka

Kosjenka is the small feminine golem Zorian builds for Kirielle. Early versions are animated wooden dolls recreated across restarts, while the real-world version hides dense weapons and defensive wards beneath the face, hair, and dress Kirielle gives her.

History

An animated doll

Zorian develops Kosjenka as a sub-meter wooden golem and repeatedly recreates her for Kirielle after each restart. Kirielle paints her face, requests long brown hair, names her, includes her in games, and treats her as a doll rather than a piece of magical engineering. Kosjenka's simple responses, such as gravely nodding when asked a question, make her convincing enough as a companion that Nochka and Kana ask for toy golems of their own. The gift therefore becomes both a sign of Zorian's growing artifice and part of the children's shared household life. (Chapters 42–44 and 50)

Hidden bodyguard

In the real month, Zorian turns the harmless appearance into camouflage. Kirielle again paints the golem and dresses it until it resembles an animated doll, but the body contains weapons and defensive wards intended to protect her without advertising the presence of a powerful guard. When enemy forces attack Kirielle's shelter during the invasion, Kosjenka sacrifices herself to save her. Kirielle mourns the destroyed golem, and Zorian rejects erasing the painful memory, deciding instead that he can repair or replace the construct in a way his sister will accept as fixing Kosjenka. Abilities and properties

• Early versions are small feminine wooden golems powered by ambient mana. Serious damage stops their animation rather than causing an explosion. (Chapters 42 and 50)
• Kirielle's additions include a painted face, long brown hair, and a dress, turning the plain construct into an animate doll under one meter tall. (Chapters 42, 44, and 98)
• The real-world version contains concealed weapons and defensive wards powerful enough for Zorian to call it a tiny bodyguard and to rely on it if Kirielle's human guards fail. (Chapters 98 and 103)
• Kosjenka can interpret simple question-like phrasing and respond with a programmed nod. More complex independent reasoning is not demonstrated. (Chapter 42)
• Her final protective action saves Kirielle but destroys the construct. (Chapter 106)
