Angel Cube

The Angel Cube is a smooth stone summoning token shaped and inscribed by an angel for Zorian. It draws on ambient mana to call the same celestial and an accompanying host into the final battle, providing a counterforce to Quatach-Ichl's demon summoning.

History

A celestial calling token

After Zorian and Zach summon an angel to clarify Zach's contract and the danger posed by Panaxeth, the celestial scoops stone from the temple floor and shapes it into a glossy cube covered in dense angelic writing. It gives the token directly to Zorian with instructions to use it during the final battle. Zorian later displays it to Quatach-Ichl as proof that he has made direct contact with a high-ranking angel, strengthening his warning about the consequences of releasing the primordial. (Chapters 96–97)

Summoning over Cyoria

When Quatach-Ichl begins summoning demons above Iasku Mansion, Zorian places the cube within an improvised ritual circle and supplies it with mana. The artifact pulls an immense torrent of ambient energy directly into the working, while Zorian and his simulacrums struggle to shape the flow safely. The completed ritual manifests the great burning-tree angel, winged attendants, and four barrier-forming celestials. The cubical enclosure those attendants create later shatters after the angel-demon engagement, but the stone token's fate after activation is unknown. (Chapters 102–103)

Abilities and properties

• The cube interfaces with a summoning circle, accepts the operator's mana, and channels ambient mana without forcing that dangerous energy through the operator's body. (Chapter 102)
• Safe use still demands extraordinary shaping control and concentration. The increasing torrent nearly consumes Zorian's awareness even with several simulacrums helping him manage the ritual. (Chapter 102)
• Its surface is smooth, glossy stone densely covered in tiny alien characters. The writing glows gold during activation until the object resembles a miniature sun in the operator's hand. (Chapters 96 and 102)
• The token calls a specific high-ranking angel with a substantial celestial host rather than performing a general-purpose summoning. (Chapters 96 and 102)
• The artifact completes one demonstrated summoning. Whether the stone token can be used again is unknown; the cube that later shatters is the celestials' battlefield enclosure. (Chapters 102–103)
