Ripp
Ripp is a swiftling monster hunter whose practical knowledge, extraordinary speed, and alertness carry him from Generasi’s bounty board to expeditions in Thameland and the hells.
Biography
New Prey to Daily Teleportation
Ripp meets Alex Roth while seeking another bounty and immediately shares professional advice about monster seasons, contracts, added rewards, and the need to negotiate so employers do not underpay hunters. That collegial instinct grows into paid cooperation at the Research Castle and in Cretalikon, where he joins Alex’s mercenary force against greater demons. He survives wounds and the deaths of companions, returns to alert field duty, and continues hunting dungeons with Alex’s allies rather than abandoning the dangerous trade. (Chapters 180–347 and 419–660)
How Far They've Come to The Circle
In the final war, Ripp joins Hart’s guerrilla force and later volunteers to remain at Greymoor with Kybas and Harmless. His speed and magical blade let him work beneath large Ravener-spawn, opening many wounds while Kybas attacks at range. When the spawn abruptly die, Ripp recognises victory with exhausted relief and considers retiring after the ordeal; he survives to attend Alex and Theresa’s wedding. (Chapters 838–905)
Appearance and personality
Ripp is a very short male swiftling with blonde hair and a tiny hand relative to a human’s. He speaks plainly, watches terrain and animal behaviour carefully, and combines professional caution with dry humour. He values fair pay and competent employers, mourns lost comrades without romanticising their work, and can accept a natural predator’s kill rather than treating every violent sight as a monster contract. (Chapters 180, 509–549, and 627)
Magic, abilities, and skills
As a swiftling, Ripp moves at extraordinary speed. In combat he darts through the legs of much larger enemies and uses a magical blade to place many rapid cuts before they can effectively respond. Speed does not remove risk: wide attacks, hostile terrain, powerful demons, and accumulated injury can still catch him, and he requires healing after the Cretalikon expedition. (Chapters 509–549, 660, and 838–895)
Ripp is also a tracker and experienced monster hunter. He reads bounties, breeding seasons, territory, tracks, and prey behaviour; at the expedition he notices a whole deer herd’s tension and warns others that a predator is near before it appears. His latest fighting pairs this awareness with guerrilla positioning and fast melee attacks rather than demonstrated high-tier spellcasting. (Chapters 180–183, 627, and 838–895)
