Mangal supports Alex’s family during the church’s pursuit by calling powerful spirits to guard their country home and search for the attackers; the spirits reduce attacks for a time but cannot locate the elusive church, showing the limits of even extensive planar assistance. After Alex returns, she resumes their work, witnesses him summon Asmaldestre with Conjure Ultimate Ally, rejects an unsafe sparring match, and approves his summoning credit. Mangal is a human woman with sharp, observant eyes and a soft, musical voice. She is sociable, encouraging, and attentive to how rules affect a group, but her warmth does not erase caution around dangerous entities. She explains that she chose summoning because she enjoys people and relationships, turning an outgoing temperament into a magical specialty rather than accepting the solitary life associated with some forms of wizardry.
