Lorraine
Lorraine is Troy's wife and an early worker at the restored Roth Family Bakery, where her experience with her husband helps stabilise its opening day.
Biography
Building the Roth Family Bakery
Lorraine volunteers to support Troy at the bakery's grand opening, reassuring him when old losses and the fear of renewed disaster make the new beginning feel unreal. She accepts Alex Roth's insistence on paying her and takes on kitchen work, counter service, orders, and whatever else is needed. Her close knowledge of Troy lets her anticipate his needs, helping the ovens keep pace even after sabotage and public spectacle create a rush. Alex rewards both spouses with double pay, recognising that their labour helped transform a precarious opening into a success. Years later, Lorraine attends Alex and Theresa Lu's wedding beside Troy and the bakery's original staff, showing that the working relationship endured as part of the couple's wider community. (Chapters 557–562 and 905)
Appearance and personality
The corpus does not give Lorraine a detailed physical description. She is supportive, industrious, emotionally perceptive, and comfortable moving between kitchen and customers. Her encouragement of Troy is not passive: she joins the work herself and understands his rhythms well enough to anticipate what he needs during a demanding service. (Chapters 557–562)
Magic, abilities, and skills
Lorraine demonstrates baking, food preparation, counter service, order handling, and teamwork during a high-volume opening. Alex casts haste on her during the rush, but that acceleration is his spell rather than her personal magic. No spellcasting or supernatural skill of her own is shown. (Chapters 557–562)
