Ffion

Ffion is a witch of Crymlyn Swamp and a childhood friend of Drestra. Captured and starved by the hidden church, she remains defiant after rescue and helps test whether a recovered dungeon core responds to ordinary witchcraft or specifically to Uldar-linked faith. (Chapters 378, 384, 388–389)

Biography

Captivity, rescue, and the dungeon-core test

Ffion survives imprisonment in an emaciated and dehydrated state, yet responds to rescue by urging Drestra to return to the fight while other witches care for the survivors. During recovery she complains about broth with grim humour and accepts a magical oath and controlled experiment out of trust and gratitude. She directs mana and runes over the dungeon core but cannot activate it; because she does not worship Uldar, that failure helps the group isolate faith-linked access rather than personal witchcraft as the relevant condition. (Chapters 378, 384, 388–389, 433)

Appearance and personality

Ffion is thin and severely emaciated after captivity, with the dehydration and weakness of prolonged mistreatment. Neither condition erases her force of personality: she is angry at the hidden church, protective of the other survivors, impatient with convalescence, and able to joke about unwanted broth. She also trusts Drestra enough to accept magically enforced safeguards during the core experiment. (Chapters 384, 388–389)

Magic, abilities, and skills

Ffion can circulate mana through runes and is familiar with the magical oaths used among Crymlyn's witches. Her attempt to engage the dungeon core is diagnostically important precisely because it fails: the core does not open or yield control to her non-Uldar magic. The chapters do not show a named offensive spell or establish her combat power, and the core test should not be mistaken for a unique innate ability. (Chapters 388–389)

Relationships

  • Drestra: Ffion is Drestra's childhood friend; she trusts Drestra's rescue and urges her to continue fighting rather than remain at the sickbed. (Chapters 384, 388)
  • Crymlyn witches: Ffion belongs to the swamp's witch community, which shelters survivors and provides the oath framework for the experiment. (Chapters 384, 388–389)
