Azzad
Azzad is one of Ikharrash's three near-identical demon sons, a terror-aspected commander who defends his fortified chambers in Cretalikon.
Biography
Defence and death in Cretalikon
Azzad argues that the triplets should preserve the tactical advantage of their fortified chamber rather than charge Baelin's students. He positions a large mixed demon host, lava traps, and ranged forces to cover every approach, but the attackers tunnel through a wall and kill his brothers before the plan can operate as intended. Left alone, Azzad duels Claygon, summons weapons, and claims that his minions have captured the others' friends. The lie amplifies his terror field until Alex Roth reads the deception and Thundar turns a feigned surrender into an ambush. Blinded, maimed, and abandoned by intimidated subordinates, Azzad begs before Thundar kills him with one of his own swords. (Chapters 477–487)
Appearance and personality
Azzad is roughly twenty feet tall, with a hyena-like head and the corpulent, toad-like body shared by his triplet brothers. His belly forms a second enormous mouth, and his ordinary fangs are chipped and yellowed. More tactically patient than his brothers, he is nevertheless cruel, proud, and dependent on terror; once fear shifts against him, command gives way to pleading. (Chapters 477 and 484–486)
Magic, abilities, and skills
Azzad's magically infused laughter produces a terror field and physically harmful sound. His abdominal mouth sprays mucus and can swallow victims, while his great strength lets him fight Claygon with enormous blades and kick the golem backward. He can teleport weapons into his hands and communicate with distant minions. Mana-draining effects weaken his terror power, deception can be detected through body language, and concentrated attacks to his eyes and joints leave him vulnerable despite his durability. (Chapters 477 and 484–486)
