Silverleaf Grimoire
The Silverleaf Grimoire is an Advanced spellbook incorrectly sold as a low-grade collection of elementary healing spells, which Vanitas acquires to support his failing body.
History
A Misclassified Healing Book
At the sponsorship auction, the grimoire is listed as a minor spellbook with rudimentary healing magic. Vanitas's Spectacles reveal its Advanced tier, allowing him to buy an item whose actual medical value the sellers have overlooked. His immediate interest is practical rather than scholarly: he hopes that its healing functions can mitigate the cancer and mana-related strain affecting his body. (Chapters 19 and 24)
Recovery Without a Cure
Vanitas can call the grimoire into action during the confrontation with Aldred, where it floats and turns its own pages as he uses its magic. Later, during the return train journey from Estelle, it restores a small portion of his mana. That recovery does not stop his underlying symptoms, establishing the book as a support tool rather than a cure for his condition. (Chapters 26 and 91)
Abilities and properties
- The Spectacles classify it as an Advanced grimoire despite its low-grade auction label. (Chapters 19 and 24)
- It can manifest beside Vanitas and assist healing or recovery without being held open like an ordinary book. (Chapter 26)
- A later use restores five percent of his mana but leaves the illness symptoms unchanged. (Chapter 91)
