Frizia

Frizia is a former southwestern assassin who works publicly as a sculptor and secretly leads the information network established for Cale Henituse. Her combination of covert fieldcraft, regional knowledge, and an innocuous artistic identity makes her a key operative along Rowoon's border with the Mogor Empire.

Biography

Hais Islands and the Magic Tower

Cale and Ron find Frizia selling sculptures while she is on the run. She had killed her assassins' guild leader after he accepted a contract to abduct a child, then attempted to assassinate the noble who ordered the crime. Cale offers sponsorship for her supposed sculpting career while bringing her and her former colleagues into a new undercover unit. (Chapter 23)

The offer preserves both her moral break with the guild and the people who followed it. A public artistic livelihood explains travel and income, while Cale gains operatives whose refusal to abduct children gives the new network a boundary the old guild lacked.

Ancient powers and imperial schemes

Before Cale travels to Mogor, Frizia briefs him on the southwestern region and the Guiller vassal connected to her former guild. She prepares her network to pressure the Guiller heir and later reunites with Cale after his return from the Empire. By then, her intelligence group has laid the groundwork for an operation against criminal activity in Guiller territory. (Chapters 34, 39)

Northern war and Death Canyon

Working with Ron, Frizia traces a vassal household's activity to buildings where people are held for an overseas slave trade. Her agents tail the responsible merchant, confirm that the guild originates in Mogor, monitor the people following Cale, and signal the rescue force as it moves. She then deploys her team to the remaining houses while Guiller's knights arrest the perpetrators. (Chapter 40)

The operation depends on verification before force. Surveillance connects merchant, buildings, foreign guild, and captives; covert signals synchronize visible knights with agents at multiple houses. That sequence prevents one arrest from warning every trafficking site.

Aftermath and the Mogor crisis

Frizia enters Mogor in the guise of a white-robed priestess of the God of Sun. She openly admits that she has no divine power while presenting herself and her subordinates as followers joining Cale's reformist group. The cover allows her information network to participate in the imperial operation without exposing its true profession. (Chapter 57)

Admitting the lack of divine power keeps the cover within a plausible lay-religious role instead of inviting tests she cannot pass. The network gains access through affiliation and appearance, not fabricated miracles.

Appearance and personality

Frizia is a middle-aged woman with a gentle appearance and warm demeanor. She can project humility, admiration, or mild bewilderment without allowing those expressions to reach her watchful eyes. Her conduct is professional and pragmatic, but her refusal to participate in a child's abduction—and her later work against traffickers—shows a firm moral boundary even within the assassin's trade. (Chapters 23, 34, 40, 57)

Abilities and powers

Assassination, surveillance, and network command

Frizia is an experienced assassin with stealth, sharpened senses, pursuit survival, and enough close-combat skill to kill her former guild leader. As an information leader, she assigns tails, compares agent reports, verifies criminal connections, and uses covert signals to synchronize action across locations. (Chapters 23, 34, 39–40)

Her senses are skilled rather than infallible—Ron can approach without detection—and network intelligence needs time and multiple observers. The Guiller rescue succeeds because she confirms the system before agents and knights move.

Regional knowledge and cover identities

Southwestern experience gives Frizia knowledge of vassals, criminal routes, and approaches toward Mogor. Sculpture provides an innocuous profession with real visible output, while the later priestess appearance grants access to a reformist religious group. (Chapters 23, 34, 39–40, 57)

She has no divine power and does not claim one when questioned. Covers work through plausible biography, clothing, companions, and restrained behavior; scrutiny by someone who knows her guild past remains a risk.

Relationships

  • Cale Henituse: Cale sponsors Frizia's sculptor identity and entrusts her with intelligence, surveillance, and infiltration assignments. She understands the threat beneath his mild instructions and executes them reliably. (Chapters 23, 34, 39–40, 57)
  • Ron: Ron recruits and works closely with Frizia, helping turn her former assassin contacts into a disciplined information guild. She openly admires his stealth and expertise. (Chapters 23, 34, 39–40)
  • Ohn and Hong: The cat siblings support Frizia's Guiller operation by closing escape routes with poison mist while her agents move between the traffickers' buildings. (Chapter 40)
  • Hilsmann: Hilsmann participates in the Guiller operation alongside Frizia's intelligence team, providing a visible military connection while the covert group works unseen. (Chapters 39–40)

Items

Frizia has no cataloged signature item; her sculptures, disguises, and assassin's equipment support her covers, but her defining asset is the intelligence network she directs rather than a unique generated object.
