Sea God Scepter

The Sea God Scepter is the short milky-white bone staff formed from Sea God Kalvetua's gathered Beyonder characteristics and serpent fang. Klein Moretti uses it from above the gray fog to inherit Kalvetua's prayer network and wield demigod-level authority over storms, sea life, and the ocean.

History

Kalvetua's authority

After Kalvetua dies, Klein finds the scepter embedded in an elven ruin. Contact exposes him to thousands of believers' prayers strongly enough to threaten his Spirit Body, so he snatches it during a self-summoning and immediately returns above the gray fog. There its harmful prayer stream becomes controllable points of light. Klein names the artifact, answers key worshipers as the returned Sea God, and gradually redirects the faith away from sacrifice while preserving the Resistance's spiritual and political support. (Chapters 549–550)

The Fool's remote weapon

Kept above the gray fog, the scepter becomes Klein's long-range reserve. He answers prayers with rain, wind, lightning, sea-creature commands, and protective blessings; uses recorded Lightning Storms through other items; and occasionally summons the actual staff for destructive operations such as attacking mausoleums. He normally avoids carrying it because its indiscriminate effects and enormous area can harm allies or civilians. (Chapters 559, 583, 691, 813, 888, and 1146)

Before entering his long sleep, Klein permits Alger Wilson to take the scepter for a future mission. During that custody, Sea God believers' prayers are redirected through Derrick toward Klein, preserving the prayer network while separating it from the physical artifact. (Chapter 1390)

Abilities and properties

  • It creates tsunamis, hurricanes, torrential rain, and lightning; grants flight, underwater breathing and movement, pressure resistance, exceptional balance and navigation; commands many sea creatures; and gives sea-monster strength. Its body is nearly indestructible and can serve as a blunt weapon. (Chapter 550)
  • Through a believer's prayer point, the holder can observe prayer scenes, respond remotely, bestow marine blessings, command nearby creatures, or attack with weather. This normally depends on the Sea God's geographic faith network; Sefirah Castle bypasses the distance limit and filters the prayers. (Chapters 550, 559, and 583)
  • The scepter makes its wielder irritable and rash. Every roughly twenty to thirty-five minutes it can freeze the thoughts of living beings within an estimated six hundred meters to one kilometer and drain their blood, including the wielder's. These figures are Klein's preliminary estimates, not exact measured constants. (Chapter 550)
  • Unfiltered prayers can overwhelm a non-demigod's mind and cause loss of control. Its weather attacks are too destructive for many populated or confined environments, and sufficiently durable targets can survive even Lightning Storm. Isolation above the gray fog is Klein's principal counter to its negative effects. (Chapters 549–550, 726, and 888)
