Simon
Biography
Cordu, Trier, and the Approaching Apocalypse
“Giant” Simon was a Savoie Mob fighter who met Ciel during the struggle around the Salle de Bal Brise. After being arrested and released, he reassessed the newcomer instead of pursuing an unwinnable grudge, mixing caution with conspicuous friendliness toward Lumian's growing authority. His size and Pugilist training made him useful muscle, but he remained alert to the danger posed by stronger Beyonders (Chapters 1612–1634)
Simon later joined Gardner Martin's Iron and Blood Cross Order trial in the mines alongside Christo. He followed the expedition while privately weighing its risks and survived the test, remaining part of the Trier underworld through his last confirmed appearance. This “Giant” Simon is unrelated to Governor Simon Guiaro, who appears much later in a different country and plotline (Chapters 1678–1720)
Appearance and personality
Simon is more than 1.9 meters tall, with short light-yellow hair, blue eyes, and a tight black suit stretched over his powerful build. He is physically imposing but not reckless: suspicious when circumstances change, deferential when outmatched, and willing to flatter a rising leader to preserve his position (Chapters 1612–1634)
Pathways and abilities
Simon is a Sequence 8 Pugilist of the Warrior pathway. He has enhanced strength, speed, coordination, endurance, close-combat technique, and acute fighting instincts. These are formidable in street combat but do not make him immune to traps, higher-Sequence powers, or the supernatural dangers of the mine trial (Chapters 1612–1720)
