Biography

Life in Klein's Era

Senor was a Rose School of Thought operative and the feared Admiral of Blood, with a 42,000-pound Loen bounty. During the Rose School's operation in Bayam, he pursued Klein Moretti through reflective surfaces and repeatedly survived lethal turns through an enchanted luck necklace. Its benefit was balanced by delayed misfortune, however, leaving every escape liable to become the cause of a later disaster (Chapters 519, 727–728).

After Klein gravely wounded him, Senor's blood touched the cover of Groselle's Travels and drew him into the book world. Klein followed, found him unconscious, removed the necklace, and converted him into a marionette. Senor thereafter had no independent agency: Klein hid the body in a gold coin and deployed its Wraith abilities for infiltration, possession, and combat. The original man was dead even when the body continued to act, and later appearances were marionette use or historical reproductions rather than a return to life (Chapters 729–730, 735–841, 1243).

Appearance and personality

Senor appeared to be in his forties, with a pale face, recessed light-brown eyes, and a double mustache. His old triangular hat and dark-red coat gave him an antique pirate silhouette. In life he was ruthless, patient, and confident in both his mobility and his improbable luck, but he also recognized when a fight had turned against him and repeatedly sought escape rather than a glorious death (Chapters 519, 727–730).

Pathways and abilities

As a Sequence 5 Wraith of the Prisoner pathway, Senor could become incorporeal, move through mirrors and other reflective surfaces, possess living targets, freeze his surroundings, and unleash a Wraith Shriek that attacked the spirit. His manifested claws and deathly powers caused withering, while his transformed state resisted ordinary physical attacks and extreme cold. Possession and mirror movement still depended on viable range and media, and sufficiently strong spiritual defenses or purification could counter him. After his death, Klein controlled these powers through the marionette; that control was Klein's ability, not Senor's native technique (Chapters 727–730, 757–841).

Items

• Luck necklace: A mystical necklace that repeatedly produced fortunate accidents, while its inscription warned that equivalent misfortune would follow. Klein removed it after Senor's defeat.
• Gold coin: Klein used a specially prepared coin to conceal and carry Senor's marionette body; it was a custody medium, not Senor's personal possession.
