Biography

Life in Klein's Era

Rosago served the Intis Embassy and worked under Ambassador Bakerland. He used a Faceless disguise as the elderly Faxine while pursuing targets and gathering intelligence, concealing both his identity and his Sequence 5 abilities. After Bakerland's death, Rosago traced the disruption to Sherlock Moriarty and entered the detective's home to kill him, first using Spirit Body Threads to seize control from a distance (Chapters 248–253, 263–264, 280, 330, 348)

Klein resisted long enough for Sharron to intervene, forcing Rosago to divide his attention between controlling his intended victim and surviving a Wraith's possession. Klein activated the Language of Foulness and then shot Rosago, killing him before he could complete the marionettization. Rosago's characteristic formed the All-Black Eye; the Rosago seen much later in the modern dream was a dream-city manifestation rather than a resurrection of the dead operative (Chapters 368, 394, 471, 572, 668, 1414, 1427)

Appearance and personality

Rosago's true form is a handsome man with black hair, blue eyes, and a small amount of facial stubble. As Faxine, he appeared elderly and inconspicuous. He is patient, secretive, and confident enough to approach a suspected killer alone, but that confidence becomes a fatal weakness when he lacks a marionette and underestimates Klein's prepared allies (Chapters 248–253, 368)

Pathways and abilities

Rosago is a Sequence 5 Marionettist of the Seer pathway. He can perceive and manipulate Spirit Body Threads, gradually turning a target into a marionette; he also retains a Faceless's disguise and body-control abilities, a Magician's tricks and damage transfer, and earlier Seer-pathway divination. Thread control requires time and concentration, and splitting his attention under Sharron's attack prevents him from finishing Klein (Chapters 248–253, 368)

• Bakerland: Intis ambassador and superior whose death leads Rosago toward Sherlock Moriarty.
• Klein Moretti / Sherlock Moriarty: Intended victim who kills Rosago after resisting his thread control.
