Reimund

Reimund Greg is a young Cordu villager, son of Pierre Greg and friend of Lumian, Ava, and the other village youths. His murder exposes the Lent celebration as a sacrificial ritual. (Chapters 1435–1436 and 1495–1503)

Biography

Cordu, Trier, and the Approaching Apocalypse

Reimund joined Lumian and Ava in village life and Lent preparations, helping with shepherding work while privately trying to educate himself. He bought used pens and exercise books from Lumian, studied each lesson seriously, and hoped knowledge would let him escape the limited future available in Cordu. (Chapters 1435–1463 and 1502)

During Lent, Pons Bénet and his thugs held Reimund underwater and drowned him as a sacrifice. Because his body was carried outside the time loop’s effective restoration, later cycles could not return him to life; Aurore’s summoning reached only his bloated, grieving spirit, whose remaining obsession identified Pons and pointed toward the cathedral’s underground. That testimony gives Lumian and Aurore a decisive clue about the ritual. (Chapters 1495–1503 and 1513)

Appearance and personality

Reimund has ordinary features, brown hair, and brown eyes. He is hardworking, loyal to his friends, and unusually hungry for education despite limited schooling; after death his spirit is bloated and pale, with bloody tears and a furious fixation on his killers. (Chapters 1502–1503)

Pathways and abilities

Reimund is an ordinary human and never demonstrates a potion, boon, or supernatural ability. His posthumous persistence and cross-cycle memories result from the loop’s failure to restore his missing body, not from a power he controls. (Chapters 1502–1503)
