Biography

Life in Klein's Era

Orange Light Hilarion first approached Klein through the dying body of scientist Turani von Helmosuin, warning him about the Mother Tree of Desire and offering to place the body's death where it might inconvenience an enemy. Hilarion's warning helped Klein recognize the scale of the Rose School of Thought threat and showed that the Seven Lights had already taken a benevolent interest in him (Chapters 723–735)

After Klein became a demigod, Hilarion welcomed him among the Seven Lights and helped explain the Outer Deities, the Oldest One's barrier, the approaching apocalypse, and the former Lord of the Mysteries. Hilarion later carried Klein's instructions to the newly advanced Bernadette, teaching her the cosmic knowledge needed to understand corruption and identifying the “great ruler above the spirit world” as Mr. Fool (Chapters 1270–1309)

Appearance and personality

Hilarion commonly appears as a plump, amiable elder in an orange robe with a short white beard. An earlier manifestation used Helmosuin's thin, elderly body. He is genial, candid, knowledgeable, and occasionally playful even while delivering warnings about existential danger.

Pathways and abilities

Orange Light Hilarion is one of the Seven Lights, angel-level spirit-world beings that embody and organize different domains of knowledge. Hilarion can read information interwoven through the spirit world, make prophecies, manifest through suitable vessels or directly in the spirit world, and transmit high-level occult knowledge. No potion pathway or Sequence title is assigned to him.
