Mary
Biography
Life in Klein's Era
Mary first approached Klein Moretti, then working as Sherlock Moriarty, because her husband Doragu Gale was committing adultery. Her real pressure was financial as well as personal: the shares inherited through her father represented a large part of Coim Company, and a divorce without decisive proof could cost her half of them. She therefore hired Klein to obtain material evidence, arranged his access to the Quelaag Club, and paid him after receiving the photograph, maintaining her composure despite the betrayal it documented. (Chapters 242, 244, 246, 259)
After the divorce, Mary emerged as a powerful shareholder and public-minded businesswoman involved with the National Atmospheric Pollution Council. She continued to trust Klein's professional judgment, recommending him to others and later dealing with his Dwayne Dantès identity over a three-percent stake in Coim. When an affair associated with Baron Syndras endangered Dwayne, she accepted responsibility for drawing him into the struggle and offered an early buyback plus compensation, choosing to protect a business partner rather than exploit the contract. (Chapters 357, 358, 757, 793, 862)
Appearance and personality
Mary is a tall woman with pronounced cheekbones. In her later appearances she dresses elegantly, favoring dark blue and expensive accessories whose display remains controlled rather than gaudy. She is proud, practical, and financially astute, yet neither cold nor vindictive: even when wounded by her husband's infidelity, she focuses on securing evidence and preserving the company her father helped build. Her later dealings show the same combination of firmness, social polish, and willingness to take responsibility. [Chapter 242] [Chapter 793] [Chapter 862]
Pathways and abilities
Mary has no established Beyonder pathway or supernatural ability. Her strengths are commercial judgment, command of shareholder politics, access to elite social circles, and the ability to hire and coordinate specialists. She understands contracts and leverage well enough to contest control of Coim and to negotiate a protective exit when a transaction becomes dangerous. [Chapter 793] [Chapter 862]
Relationships
Mary's relationship with Doragu Gale ends after she commissions proof of his adultery. She treats Klein first as a detective and later as a trusted professional and business counterpart, repeatedly recommending him and attempting to shield him from the consequences of her corporate dispute. Stelyn Sammer acts as the social connection who brings Mary to Sherlock, while Baron Syndras becomes her principal rival for control of Coim. [Chapter 242] [Chapter 357] [Chapter 793] [Chapter 862]
Items
Mary's most consequential possessions are her Coim Company shares and the contracts governing their sale. They are ordinary financial instruments rather than mystical items, but they determine both the stakes of her divorce and her later struggle for corporate control. The adultery photograph obtained by Klein serves as the decisive evidence in her original case. [Chapter 242] [Chapter 259] [Chapter 793]
