Louis Lund is Administrator Béost’s butler, who followed his employer from Dariège to Cordu and served in the castle governed by Béost and Pualis de Roquefort. (Chapter 1471)

Biography

Cordu, Trier, and the Approaching Apocalypse

In Cordu, Louis quietly supplied local gossip to Lumian Lee, including information about Pualis and the village padre, while also selling items from the castle. His position placed him inside Pualis’s unnatural household: Lumian discovered Louis giving birth to a clawed infant despite being a man, after which ritual sewing and the household’s healing powers restored him with extraordinary speed. (Chapters 1471–1472 and 1497)

Louis left Cordu with Pualis, Béost, Cathy, and their dependents before the village’s final disaster. When Lumian later intercepted him in Trier, Louis initially tried to protect his mistress’s whereabouts, but fear and pressure made him agree to carry a message; his confirming nod then led Lumian to a concealed meeting with Pualis. He remained in her service and was alive when last directly involved in the exchange. (Chapters 1635–1638 and 1651)

Appearance and personality

Louis has black hair and blue eyes and normally wears a butler’s formal black suit, vest, and bow tie. He is discreet and wary when protecting his employers, but coercion quickly exposes his fear; even so, he performs his intermediary role instead of openly betraying Pualis. (Chapters 1497 and 1637–1638)

Pathways and abilities

No personal Beyonder pathway or combat ability is demonstrated. His impossible pregnancy and rapid recovery occur within Pualis’s Great Mother-aligned household and are evidence of power acting upon him, not proof that Louis himself possesses a boon or potion. (Chapters 1471–1472 and 1497)

Relationships

  • Pualis de Roquefort: Louis is her household servant, leaves Cordu with her group, and later serves as the intermediary who brings Lumian to her. (Chapters 1635–1638 and 1651)
