Biography

Life in Klein's Era

Kenley White begins as a civilian employee of the Tingen Nighthawks and voluntarily becomes an official Beyonder, advancing to Sequence 9 Sleepless. Within the team he watches the armory and Chanis Gate, joins card games and routine duties, and helps carry Old Neil's coffin after the latter's death. His quiet reliability makes him part of the ordinary camaraderie that binds the Nighthawks between crises. (Chapters 45, 97, 122, 165)

During the operation against Madam Sharon, Dunn Smith calls Kenley into the field and entrusts him with Sealed Artifact 3-0271. The mission's supernatural pressures overwhelm him, and he dies after violently vomiting out his organs. The authorities conceal the occult circumstances and publicly honor him as a police officer killed in the line of duty, leaving his teammates to mourn the much more disturbing truth. Appearance and personality

Kenley is remembered as very short and intelligent. He rarely refuses a case and behaves as a cooperative, dependable teammate, though his card-table conversations about his fiancée reveal an ordinary life beyond official work. His death is especially painful because he is neither reckless nor corrupt; he accepts an assigned responsibility during a dangerous operation and pays for risks he cannot fully control. Pathways and abilities

Kenley is a Sequence 9 Sleepless. This grants the pathway's basic resistance to fatigue and need for sleep, supporting night watch and sustained duty, but the corpus does not establish a larger personal repertoire. He also receives standard Nighthawk training and can perform guard, investigative, and combat assignments. [Chapter 97] [Chapter 196]

Relationships

Kenley works under Dunn Smith beside Klein Moretti, Old Neil, Leonard Mitchell, and the other Tingen Nighthawks. He helps lay Old Neil to rest, then becomes another teammate the unit loses soon afterward. Kenley is temporarily entrusted with Sealed Artifact 3-0271 for the Madam Sharon operation. It is an assigned Church artifact rather than his personal possession, and its involvement should not be treated as an ability of his own. His usual equipment is standard Nighthawk gear.
