Ian Wright

Biography

Life in Klein's Era

Ian hires Sherlock Moriarty to find his missing former employer, Detective Zreal. He eventually explains that Zreal was a Feysac spy who adopted vagrant children and trained them as intelligence assets, and that Ian became entangled in the struggle over the Helmosuin manuscript after tracing Zreal's disappearance. Captured and frightened into revealing what he knew, Ian is rescued by MI9 and gives them the manuscript's location, emerging alive but without the network that had previously sheltered him. (Chapters 222, 247)

Still only fifteen or sixteen, Ian rebuilds himself as a discreet information seller and black-market arms dealer around Bravehearts Bar. When Klein Moretti returns to Backlund, Ian honors the two favors he owes Sherlock, supplies intelligence, and later helps Klein's allies obtain weapons. His survival comes from turning the skills imposed on him as a child spy into an independent trade while remaining careful about stronger factions. (Chapters 433, 722, 795, 994, 1000)

Appearance and personality

Ian is a teenage boy with striking bright-red eyes. He wears an old overcoat and brown hat and later adds false whiskers when operating in the underground. He is unusually calm and self-possessed for his age, quick to apologize when necessary, and pragmatic about danger. Beneath that caution is a strong sense of obligation: once he promises Klein two requests, he continues honoring the debt even after building a new life. [Chapter 247] [Chapter 433]

Pathways and abilities

Ian has no established Beyonder pathway or supernatural powers. His capabilities come from intelligence training, street survival, disguise, clandestine contacts, and knowledge of Backlund's illegal arms market. He can gather hard-to-find information and arrange weapons without drawing attention, but he remains physically an ordinary young man. [Chapter 247] [Chapter 433] [Chapter 994]

Relationships

Zreal is Ian's adoptive employer and the Feysac agent who drew him into espionage. Klein first serves as the detective Ian hires, then becomes a creditor and trusted contact whose requests Ian assists. MI9 rescues and interrogates Ian during the manuscript affair, while figures around Bravehearts Bar become part of the independent network he constructs afterward. Items

Ian uses ordinary disguises, documents, and access to black-market firearms. His old coat, brown hat, and false whiskers help him pass unnoticed, but no mystical item is attributed to him. The weapons he sources are commercial stock rather than personal relics. [Chapter 433] [Chapter 994]
