Biography

Cordu, Trier, and the Approaching Apocalypse

Hisoka was the codename used by Twanaku Tupián, an April Fool's member who usually operated alone and only occasionally cooperated with Mad Lady. He combined a Desire Apostle's predatory psychology with power obtained from the black tomb, using possession, disguises, and carefully selected murders to remain difficult to identify. His trail through Port Pylos and Tizamo eventually gave Lumian Lee's team enough behavioral clues to construct a trap (Chapters 1810, 2026, 2070–2082).

Cornered in a bathroom and deprived of easy escape through reflective surfaces, Hisoka was captured and interrogated through a dream. He attempted to escape the consequences by losing control and preserving himself as a Wraith, but Hela prevented the postmortem transition and the team killed him. The black tomb later retained a dream projection able to pursue resurrection through its golden mask. Lumian destroyed that projection as well, ending both the living killer and the surviving dream route back to existence (Chapters 2082–2085, 2093–2122).

Appearance and personality

Hisoka had mixed Intisian and West Balam ancestry, with light-brown skin, flaxen eyes, and dark hair. His calm face carried an indifference to life that fit his serial killings. He was controlled, suspicious, and adept at turning another person's desires into openings, but his self-possession concealed a fierce refusal to accept death; when defeated, he chose monstrosity and attempted resurrection rather than surrender (Chapters 2070–2085).

Pathways and abilities

As a Sequence 5 Desire Apostle of the Criminal pathway, Hisoka could perceive and exploit intense desires, plant corrupting impulses, investigate weaknesses, receive danger premonitions, and transform into a roughly three-meter-tall devil with goat horns, batlike wings, great strength, defense, and sulfurous flames. A separate boon associated with the black tomb gave him Wraith-like possession and movement through mirrors. These systems did not remove practical limits: reflective travel required usable media, possession could be constrained, and the conflicting boon and characteristic complicated what remained after death (Chapters 2070–2085).
